Curriculum vitae



1968. Born on 12th August.

1988-1995. Studies in biology and geography at the university of
Basel. The main focus in biology was on animal and plant population biology, biology of vertebrates and plant physiological ecology. In geography, the emphasis was on physical geography and landscape ecology.

1995. Diploma thesis in population biology at the
university of Basel (under the supervision of Steve Stearns, Uli Reyer, Brad Anholt and Hansjürg Hotz).

1996-1999. Working for the
governmental nature conservation agency of Kanton Basel-Landschaft. The main task was conservation of amphibians and reptiles (management of habitats, creating new habitat, establishing new reserves, sustainable use of man-made habitat, finding solutions where road mortality of amphibians is high, information of the public about specific taxa and conservation, etc.).

1999-2003. Ph.D. thesis under the supervision of
Josh Van Buskirk.

2003 Research assistant at the University of Zurich
